How Does it Work ?
Our skin is the largest organ in the body, and it's our first line of defense protecting all of our internal organs from environmental and occupational abusers. Unlike other organs though, the skin's remarkable design can regenerate itself. We receive a new outer covering constantly as new borne skin cells migrate from the Basel Cell Layer to the surface within thirty to forty-five days. But you must avoid skin abusers in order for the new borne cells to migrate to the surface unharmed. The beauty industry has taught us that "attractive skin" is "healthy skin". The medical industry has taught us that "healthy skin" is "intact skin". Since 1990, Derma Shield has helped the body to naturally create attractive, healthy and intact skin by using two effective methods: 1. MOISTURIZING to "Lock-in" the good ... and 2. AVOIDANCE to "Block-out" the bad. How Derma Shield Helps Protect Your Skin MOISTURIZING First, Derma Shield's luxurious foam quickly penetrates down into the interstitial spaces between the Squamous Cell Layer and the Stratum Corneum adding moisture, emollients, and nutrients such as Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Lanolin to the the Epidermis Layer of the skin. These essential elements help the skin remain attractive and healthy. Then as the barrier layer dries, Derma Shield "Locks-in" the good essential elements, as well as the skin's own natural nutrients and moisture, slowing down their evaporation rate out of the skin due to extreme conditions or abusers. Derma Shield helps the skin to remain supple, moist and more attractive because of three important benefits:
Secondly, Derma Shield is a shielding foam cosmetic product that creates a physical barrier by bonding with the dead and flaking skin cells of the Stratum Corneum, the outer most layer of the skin. By avoidance, Derma Shield "Blocks-out" the bad ... but does not exert a physiological effect on the body by altering or changing it, nor does it exert a physiological effect on any abusers that may fall on the barrier. When dry, the barrier layer gives maximum protection for four to six hours. It is effective in wet or dry conditions, and helps the skin avoid coming in direct contact with any skin abusers that could adversely affect the beauty or damage the health of the skin. As a physical barrier, Derma Shield also helps prevent trans-dermal absorbtion of harmful chemicals into the body by blocking them on the skin's surface -- so that they never absorb down to the Dermis and enter the blood vessels. Skin abusers merely rest on the barrier layer and never actually touch the skin underneath. If it can't touch you ... it can't hurt you! These abusers can be easily washed off the barrier surface with soap and water. Derma Shield helps provide additional time to get to a wash station in case of an accidental spill or splash; or when an inadvertent contact with hazardous chemicals exceeds or circumvents other safety precautions. Derma Shield is non-ionic, and is effective in avoidance against organic and inorganic material, and most chemicals on both sides of the pH scale. Its unique, slightly alkaline formulation is inert and from preservations tests, is found to not promote the growth of microbes. Derma Shield is safe for all skin areas, and is compatible with hand washing protocols, sanitizing and glove wearing. And the barrier layer won't wash off (even with repeated washing and sanitizing) but merely sloughs off with the dead cells through the skin's normal process. Derma Shield's non greasy formula allows the skin to function normally, such as perspiration and the release of gases, and does not affect tactile sensations or flexibility. There have been tens of thousands of new chemicals, hazardous materials, skin abusers and extreme conditions added to the work environment in the last decade. Derma Shield is also a new technology that can be an effective part of the safety protocol for any business where the skin comes in direct contact with skin abusers, contaminates or work conditions that affect the attractiveness and health of the skin.
